As a key member of our IT team, you will oversee complex network operations, ensure system security, and lead digital transformation projects that modernize county services.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, implementation, and maintenance of Hennepin County's core network infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Oversee system architecture design, ensuring scalability, high availability, and security compliance.
- Direct cross-functional teams in the development and deployment of enterprise software solutions.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement disaster recovery protocols.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify technology needs and align IT strategies with organizational goals.
- Ensure adherence to federal, state, and local data privacy regulations and security standards.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in network engineering, systems administration, or IT project management.
- Valid Project Management Professional (PMP) or similar certification is highly desirable.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Azure, AWS, or similar cloud platforms.
- Strong knowledge of cybersecurity best practices, including firewalls and encryption.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical presentations.
