Responsibilities
- Lead the design, implementation, and maintenance of large-scale IT systems supporting state and federal transportation projects.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define technical requirements and ensure strict compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Oversee the security posture of departmental networks, ensuring data integrity and protection against cyber threats.
- Mentor and guide a team of junior IT professionals, fostering a culture of continuous learning and technical excellence.
- Conduct system audits and performance assessments to identify areas for optimization and modernization.
- Manage vendor relationships and contract oversight for third-party software and hardware solutions.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in IT project management or systems engineering within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Proven expertise in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
- Strong understanding of federal compliance standards such as FISMA, NIST, and DCID.
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to translate complex technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to obtain and maintain a Department of Transportation security clearance.
