Responsibilities
- Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of the state agency's IT infrastructure and cloud environments.
- Develop and enforce rigorous cybersecurity protocols to safeguard sensitive citizen data against evolving threats.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and enhance user experience across all digital platforms.
- Conduct deep-dive technical assessments and provide expert-level troubleshooting for hardware, network, and software issues.
- Ensure strict compliance with federal (FISMA) and state regulations regarding data privacy and IT governance.
- Lead training sessions for staff on new software deployments and security best practices.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems administration or software development within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Proven expertise in cloud technologies (AWS, Azure) and virtualization platforms (VMware, Hyper-V).
- Strong understanding of cybersecurity frameworks, network architecture, and database management (SQL).
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, high-stakes environment.
