Responsibilities
- Lead Strategic Initiatives: Oversee the full project lifecycle (Initiation, Planning, Execution, Monitoring, and Closure) for high-impact IT programs.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for executive leadership, department heads, and external vendors to ensure alignment on project goals and expectations.
- Risk & Compliance: Identify potential risks early and implement mitigation strategies while adhering to strict state and federal compliance standards (e.g., FISMA, CalNEMA).
- Resource Allocation: Manage cross-functional teams, including developers, analysts, and subject matter experts, to ensure optimal performance and morale.
- Financial Oversight: Monitor project budgets, track expenditures, and report on financial performance to ensure projects remain within scope and funding limits.
- Agile Methodology: Champion Agile and Scrum practices to drive iterative development and rapid delivery of software solutions.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Administration, or a related field. A Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in IT Project Management, with at least 3 years in a leadership capacity.
- Certification: PMP (Project Management Professional) or PgMP (Program Management Professional) certification is highly required.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of SDLC methodologies, project management tools (Jira, MS Project), and cloud technologies (AWS/Azure).
- Communication Skills: Exceptional ability to translate complex technical concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders.
- Government Experience: Previous experience working within the public sector or with government contractors is a significant plus.
