As a key member of our IT team, you will be responsible for designing and maintaining the technological infrastructure that powers our state services.
Responsibilities
- Network Administration: Oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of complex network systems to ensure maximum uptime and security for state agencies.
- Cybersecurity Compliance: Monitor network traffic for anomalies, implement security protocols, and ensure adherence to federal and state data privacy regulations.
- Project Leadership: Lead cross-functional teams in the deployment of new software solutions and hardware upgrades, managing timelines and budgets effectively.
- Technical Support: Provide high-level troubleshooting and guidance for internal staff, resolving critical technical issues with minimal downtime.
- Documentation: Maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including system architectures, standard operating procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Vendor Management: Collaborate with external vendors to procure services and ensure deliverables meet state quality standards.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related technical field is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT system administration, network engineering, or IT project management.
- Certifications: Active CompTIA Security+, Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), or CISSP certification is strongly preferred.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in cloud computing platforms (AWS/Azure), virtualization technologies, and scripting languages (Python or PowerShell).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
