Responsibilities
- Oversee and manage the implementation of FISMA compliance frameworks and security controls across federal networks.
- Lead risk assessments and vulnerability management processes to mitigate cyber threats before they materialize.
- Provide expert-level technical guidance and mentorship to junior IT staff and system administrators.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design, deploy, and maintain secure cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Conduct regular security audits and produce detailed reports for government stakeholders and auditors.
- Respond to and remediate security incidents in accordance with established incident response plans.
- Ensure all hardware and software configurations adhere to NIST and agency-specific security policies.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related technical field; Master’s degree preferred.
- Certification: Active Top Secret clearance with SCI eligibility (or ability to obtain one). CISSP, CISM, or Security+ certification is required.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of professional experience in federal IT, cybersecurity, or information assurance.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Python, PowerShell, and scripting languages for automation and security monitoring.
- Knowledge: Deep understanding of network security protocols, encryption standards, and federal acquisition regulations (FAR/DFARS).
- Soft Skills: Exceptional problem-solving abilities, strong verbal and written communication skills for briefing senior leadership.
