Responsibilities
- Lead Infrastructure Management: Oversee the maintenance, configuration, and administration of enterprise servers, databases, and network hardware to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Cybersecurity Oversight: Implement and monitor advanced security measures to protect sensitive city data and infrastructure from cyber threats and unauthorized access.
- Project Leadership: Spearhead the planning and execution of major IT initiatives, including cloud migration and system upgrades, collaborating closely with cross-functional teams.
- Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and service providers to ensure contracts are met and technical support is delivered efficiently.
- System Optimization: Analyze system performance metrics and proactively identify areas for improvement to enhance operational efficiency.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all IT operations adhere to strict federal, state, and local government compliance standards and IT governance frameworks.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5-7 years of progressive experience in information technology, preferably within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V), and cloud platforms (AWS/Azure).
- Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or PMP are highly desirable.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts for non-technical stakeholders.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with a proven track record of resolving critical system failures under pressure.
