Key Responsibilities:

- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN) and wide area networks (WAN) to ensure optimal performance.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve complex hardware and software issues for city staff.
- Implement and monitor security protocols to protect sensitive municipal data and networks.
- Perform regular system backups and disaster recovery planning to minimize downtime.
- Configure and manage firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
- Provide technical support, training, and guidance to non-technical department staff.
- Collaborate with external vendors and contractors for system upgrades and maintenance.
Qualifications:

- Associate degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Bachelor's preferred).
- Minimum of 3 years of professional experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Proficiency in network protocols (TCP/IP, DNS, DHCP, SNMP).
- Experience with cloud technologies (Azure or AWS) is a plus.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Network+, Security+, or CCNA are highly desirable.
- Ability to pass a comprehensive background check and drug screening (Standard for Government roles).
