Role Overview:
As a Senior IT Support Specialist, you will provide advanced technical leadership, troubleshooting, and system administration support. You will be responsible for managing critical IT infrastructure, overseeing complex project rollouts, and mentoring junior staff members. Responsibilities
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and troubleshooting for hardware, software, and network issues across the county.
- Manage and maintain local area networks (LAN), wide area networks (WAN), and server infrastructure.
- Oversee the deployment, configuration, and maintenance of end-user devices, including laptops, mobiles, and peripherals.
- Lead or participate in major IT projects, including system upgrades, migrations, and software rollouts.
- Collaborate with vendors to ensure optimal service delivery and cost-effective procurement.
- Mentor and coach junior IT staff, fostering a culture of knowledge sharing and technical excellence.
- Ensure compliance with county security policies, data privacy regulations, and industry best practices.
Qualifications
- A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or ITIL Foundation are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to diagnose complex technical issues efficiently.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
