Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and manage complex network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless networks, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Oversee the configuration and maintenance of servers, virtualization environments, and cloud-based solutions to optimize resource allocation.
- Develop and enforce robust cybersecurity protocols, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls to protect sensitive county data.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical system failures, minimizing downtime and ensuring business continuity for county departments.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify technical requirements and deliver scalable IT solutions that support organizational goals.
- Maintain accurate documentation of network architecture, configurations, and procedures for knowledge transfer and compliance audits.
- Train and mentor junior IT staff, fostering a culture of technical excellence and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and extensive experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration, network engineering, or a similar IT role within a large-scale organization.
- Certifications such as Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA), CompTIA Security+, or Microsoft Certified Solutions Expert (MCSE) are highly preferred.
- Proven expertise in managing Microsoft Active Directory environments and Windows Server ecosystems.
- Strong working knowledge of virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to work independently and make sound decisions under pressure.
- Valid driver's license and the ability to travel to various county facilities as required.
