Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the county's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless systems.
- Perform advanced troubleshooting of hardware, software, and network connectivity issues to ensure 99.9% uptime.
- Manage and monitor network security protocols, firewalls, and VPNs to protect sensitive government data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute IT projects, upgrades, and migrations.
- Conduct regular system audits and perform preventative maintenance to ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior IT staff and support technicians.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Certifications such as CCNA, CCNP, or CompTIA Security+ are strongly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, systems administration, or IT support.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Windows Server environments and Active Directory management.
- Strong knowledge of TCP/IP, routing, switching, and network security best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
