Responsibilities
- Develop and Maintain Data: Create, update, and manage spatial databases and GIS layers to support county operations.
- Map Production: Design high-quality maps and visualizations for reports, public presentations, and internal stakeholders.
- Data Analysis: Perform complex spatial analyses to assist planning and zoning departments in decision-making processes.
- System Support: Troubleshoot and support GIS software, ensuring field staff and analysts have reliable tools.
- Project Coordination: Collaborate with engineers and planners to integrate GIS data into broader engineering projects.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Geography, Urban Planning, Geology, or a related field required.
- Experience: 0-2 years of professional experience in GIS, spatial analysis, or cartography.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in ArcGIS Pro, ArcMap, and SQL is essential.
- Communication: Strong written and verbal communication skills to convey complex data to non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Ability to troubleshoot technical issues and think critically about data accuracy.
