Core Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain the county's local area network (LAN) and wide area network (WAN), ensuring 99.9% uptime.
- Administer server infrastructure, including virtualization platforms (VMware/Hyper-V) and cloud environments (AWS/Azure).
- Implement and enforce strict network security protocols to protect sensitive government data and citizen privacy.
- Lead Tier 3 troubleshooting and incident response for complex system failures and outages.
- Oversee the deployment and configuration of new hardware and software solutions for county departments.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance tuning to optimize efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration within a government, military, or large enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and Cisco networking equipment.
- Valid CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or equivalent certifications preferred.
- Ability to work under pressure and respond effectively to urgent service requests and emergencies.
