Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end project management for high-visibility IT infrastructure upgrades and software development initiatives.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, UX/UI designers, and city agency representatives, to define project scopes and deliverables.
- Monitor project budgets, timelines, and resource allocation to ensure successful delivery within fiscal constraints.
- Conduct thorough risk assessments and implement mitigation strategies to address potential technical and regulatory challenges.
- Ensure all projects comply with ADA accessibility standards and City of Chicago procurement policies.
- Facilitate stakeholder meetings, prepare detailed progress reports, and communicate technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Mentor junior project managers and foster a culture of continuous improvement within the IT team.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Public Administration, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
- PMP (Project Management Professional) or CAPM (Certified Associate in Project Management) certification is required.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in IT project management within the public sector or a large-scale enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in Agile and Scrum methodologies, with a proven track record of leading sprint planning and retrospectives.
- Deep understanding of government procurement processes, ITIL frameworks, and IT security compliance standards.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to influence stakeholders at all levels.
- Experience with Jira, MS Project, and other project management collaboration tools.
