Responsibilities
- Lead Project Lifecycle: Direct the end-to-end lifecycle of IT projects, from initiation and planning to execution, monitoring, and closure.
- Stakeholder Management: Act as the primary point of contact for internal stakeholders, city departments, and external vendors.
- Resource Allocation: Manage project budgets, allocate resources efficiently, and ensure financial accountability.
- Risk Mitigation: Identify potential risks and develop strategies to mitigate them to ensure project success.
- Agile Leadership: Lead Agile/Scrum ceremonies, facilitate retrospectives, and drive team performance.
- Compliance & Standards: Ensure all projects adhere to federal, state, and local government regulations and IT standards.
- Reporting: Provide regular status reports to senior leadership and the City Council.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Public Administration, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Certification: PMP, PgMP, or similar project management certification is highly desirable.
- Experience: Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in project management within the public sector or large enterprise environment.
- Technical Proficiency: Strong knowledge of project management methodologies (Agile, Scrum, Waterfall) and tools (MS Project, Jira, Asana).
- Communication: Exceptional verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical concepts for non-technical audiences.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a focus on delivering results.
- Interpersonal Skills: Proven ability to collaborate effectively across diverse teams and departments.
