Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex IT systems and network architectures to ensure high availability and security.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical technical issues, providing technical guidance to junior staff and end-users.
- Manage vendor relationships and oversee the procurement of hardware and software solutions.
- Develop and document IT policies, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance assessments to optimize county operations.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify technological solutions that improve county efficiency.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT project management.
- Strong knowledge of network protocols (TCP/IP), server hardware, and virtualization technologies.
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Cisco CCNA, or Microsoft Certified Professional are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently under pressure.
- Valid Driver’s License and willingness to travel between county facilities.
