Role Overview:
The ideal candidate will possess deep technical expertise and proven leadership abilities. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining complex software systems while ensuring strict adherence to federal and state security standards. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to modernize legacy systems and implement cutting-edge technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and implement robust software solutions and system architectures for state agencies.
- Lead technical projects from conception to deployment, ensuring on-time and within-budget delivery.
- Ensure all systems comply with federal and state security regulations (FISMA, NIST).
- Mentor junior developers and conduct code reviews to maintain high engineering standards.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to gather requirements and translate them into technical specifications.
- Perform system troubleshooting, debugging, and performance tuning to ensure optimal uptime.
- Research emerging technologies to recommend improvements for current infrastructure.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in software development, system architecture, or IT infrastructure management.
- Strong proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C#, Python, or JavaScript.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Knowledge of database management systems (SQL, NoSQL).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical audiences.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen and able to pass a background investigation.
