Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive cybersecurity protocols to safeguard state networks and data assets.
- Conduct regular vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk analyses to identify potential security gaps.
- Lead incident response teams to rapidly mitigate cyber threats and restore system integrity.
- Collaborate with federal partners to ensure alignment with national defense and cybersecurity standards (e.g., CISA, NIST).
- Develop and deliver security awareness training programs for government staff.
- Manage the configuration and administration of firewalls, IDS/IPS, and endpoint protection systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Security, or a related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Active Security+, CISSP, or CISM certification is highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in network administration or cybersecurity within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Strong knowledge of NIST frameworks, FISMA compliance, and federal information security regulations.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to operate effectively in a high-pressure, 24/7 operational environment.
