Responsibilities
- Provide 24/7 system monitoring and maintenance for critical city databases and servers during weekend shifts.
- Perform scheduled patch management, security updates, and system backups to ensure data integrity and business continuity.
- Investigate and resolve technical incidents and service tickets escalated during off-hours, ensuring rapid response times.
- Collaborate with the central IT department to document procedures and maintain accurate logs of all maintenance activities.
- Ensure strict compliance with government cybersecurity standards and data privacy regulations.
- Assist in the deployment and configuration of new hardware and software solutions for city departments.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent professional experience.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in IT support, systems administration, or network engineering.
- Must be available to work alternating weekends (Saturday and Sunday) on a rotating schedule.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server, Active Directory, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure).
- Familiarity with government IT security protocols (FISMA, NIST) is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
