Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the city's server infrastructure, including virtualization environments and cloud platforms.
- Implement and manage robust security protocols to safeguard sensitive government data and networks.
- Diagnose and resolve complex technical issues, providing Tier 3 support to internal stakeholders.
- Conduct regular system audits, performance tuning, and capacity planning to ensure optimal resource allocation.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and deploy scalable IT solutions that meet evolving city needs.
- Maintain and update documentation for all systems, processes, and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration, network engineering, or IT support.
- Proficiency in Windows Server, Active Directory, and Linux environments.
- Strong knowledge of network security best practices and compliance standards (e.g., NIST, ISO).
- Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, CCNA, or ITIL Foundation are highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical staff.
