Responsibilities
- Infrastructure Management: Design, implement, and maintain complex server environments, including Windows Server and Linux distributions, ensuring high availability and performance.
- Security Administration: Oversee Active Directory security policies, manage access controls, and implement robust cybersecurity measures to protect sensitive county data.
- Technical Support: Provide advanced Level 3 support and mentor junior staff, resolving complex hardware and software issues efficiently.
- System Automation: Develop and deploy scripts (PowerShell, Bash) to automate routine tasks, enhancing operational efficiency.
- Project Leadership: Lead IT projects related to system upgrades, migrations, and hardware deployments within strict government timelines.
- Vendor Management: Liaise with third-party vendors to manage service level agreements and resolve technical escalations.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Certifications: Active Directory, MCSA, or CCNA certification preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration within a large-scale enterprise or government environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V), cloud platforms (Azure/AWS), and scripting languages.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to translate technical jargon for non-technical stakeholders.
- Security Clearance: Ability to obtain and maintain a government security clearance.
