Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain the county's network infrastructure, including LAN, WAN, and wireless systems.
- Oversee server administration, virtualization, and cloud integration using Microsoft and Linux environments.
- Manage IT security protocols, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Provide Tier 3 technical support and troubleshooting for complex hardware and software issues.
- Collaborate with department heads to plan and execute technology upgrades and digital transformation initiatives.
- Monitor system performance and implement disaster recovery plans to minimize downtime.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Certifications such as CCNA, Security+, or CCNP are highly preferred.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration or network engineering.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, Windows Server, and Microsoft 365.
- Experience with virtualization technologies (VMware, Hyper-V) and cloud platforms (AWS, Azure).
- Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to communicate technical concepts to non-technical staff.
- Ability to obtain a government security clearance.
