Responsibilities
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the federal network infrastructure, ensuring high availability and security compliance.
- Design, implement, and manage virtualization and cloud solutions (AWS/Azure) to support modernization efforts.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex technical issues, and implement proactive maintenance strategies.
- Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to enforce federal security protocols and conduct risk assessments.
- Lead technical projects, including software deployments and hardware upgrades, ensuring adherence to ITIL frameworks.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior system administrators and IT staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Active Top Secret Security Clearance (or ability to obtain one).
- 5+ years of experience in systems administration within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Proficiency with Linux/Windows server management and scripting languages (Python, PowerShell, Bash).
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or AWS Solutions Architect is highly preferred.
- Strong understanding of federal IT policies, NIST standards, and compliance requirements.
