Responsibilities
- Oversee the daily operations and maintenance of Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Design, implement, and manage network infrastructure, including firewalls, VPNs, and switches.
- Develop and enforce IT security protocols to protect sensitive government data and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide advanced technical troubleshooting and support for internal staff and external agencies.
- Manage virtualization technologies, including VMware or Hyper-V, to optimize resource allocation.
- Conduct regular system audits and performance monitoring to identify potential vulnerabilities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute IT upgrades and migrations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field; or equivalent military/technical experience.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration within a government or enterprise environment.
- Professional certifications such as CompTIA Security+, MCSE, or CCNP are highly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and file system management.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work effectively under pressure in a 24/7 operational environment.
- Valid driver’s license and the ability to pass a background check.
