As a Senior Systems Administrator, you will play a critical role in maintaining our network architecture, securing sensitive data, and supporting the daily operations of county departments. Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure and server environments to ensure high availability.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot technical issues, and perform routine maintenance and upgrades.
- Ensure data security and compliance with local, state, and federal regulations, including GDPR and HIPAA standards.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deploy new software solutions and improve operational efficiency.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior IT staff and support help desk operations.
- Conduct regular audits and risk assessments to identify potential vulnerabilities in the county's IT systems.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent military/technical experience).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems administration, preferably within a government or enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in Windows Server, Linux, Active Directory, and virtualization technologies (VMware/Hyper-V).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) is highly preferred.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Valid Driver’s License and reliable transportation.
