Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive analysis of business requirements and translate them into effective technical solutions and system architectures.
- Design, implement, and maintain complex database systems, including Oracle and SQL Server environments.
- Lead troubleshooting and resolution efforts for critical system outages, ensuring minimal downtime for County services.
- Develop and enforce data security protocols to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.
- Collaborate with department heads to identify opportunities for process improvement and automation.
- Mentor junior IT staff and conduct technical training sessions to foster a culture of excellence.
- Manage IT project lifecycles, ensuring deliverables are met on time and within budget.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in systems analysis, database administration, or IT project management.
- Proficiency in SQL, PL/SQL, and experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong understanding of network infrastructure, cybersecurity best practices, and IT governance.
- Exceptional problem-solving skills with the ability to analyze complex data sets and provide actionable insights.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, capable of bridging the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- Valid California Driver’s License (often required for government roles involving site visits).
