Responsibilities
- Analyze complex business requirements and translate them into robust technical solutions and system architectures.
- Design, implement, and maintain mission-critical IT systems, databases, and applications to support city operations.
- Monitor system performance, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure high availability and security compliance.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers, project managers, and city departments, to define project scopes and deliverables.
- Develop and maintain detailed technical documentation, including standard operating procedures and system diagrams.
- Conduct code reviews and provide technical guidance to junior IT staff and interns.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience in a government setting).
- Minimum of 5+ years of progressive experience in systems analysis, IT support, or a related public sector role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Java, Python, or similar programming languages.
- Experience with cloud infrastructure (AWS, Azure) and cybersecurity best practices.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to communicate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
