Job Description
The City of Memphis is seeking a highly motivated Senior IT Systems Analyst to join our dynamic Department of Information Technology. We are looking for an immediate hire to support critical infrastructure projects and ensure the security and efficiency of our government systems.
As a Senior Analyst, you will bridge the gap between business requirements and technical solutions. This role offers the opportunity to work on high-impact initiatives that directly serve the citizens of Memphis, leveraging modern technologies to improve municipal operations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the analysis, design, and implementation of complex IT systems and software solutions.
- Conduct thorough system requirements gathering and translate them into detailed technical specifications.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including developers and stakeholders, to ensure project timelines and deliverables are met.
- Maintain and optimize existing legacy systems to improve performance, reliability, and security compliance.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior staff and analysts within the department.
- Monitor system performance and troubleshoot complex technical issues in a 24/7 environment.
- Ensure strict adherence to federal, state, and local government security policies (NIST, FISMA).
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in systems analysis or IT project management within the public sector or a large enterprise environment.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Java, or Python programming languages.
- Experience with Agile and Waterfall project management methodologies.
- Excellent communication skills with the ability to articulate complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Certification preferred: CISSP, PMP, or CompTIA Security+.
- Ability to work under pressure and meet strict deadlines in a government setting.
