The Role
As a Senior IT Systems Analyst, you will be responsible for analyzing, designing, and implementing complex IT solutions that support city operations. You will work closely with city departments to identify technical needs and ensure our systems are scalable, secure, and efficient.
Responsibilities
- Analyze complex IT requirements and design scalable system architectures for city applications.
- Oversee the implementation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network infrastructure and server environments.
- Conduct security audits and vulnerability assessments to protect sensitive government data.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define project scope and deliverables.
- Develop and document technical specifications, standard operating procedures, and training materials.
- Provide advanced technical support and mentorship to junior IT staff and city employees.
- Monitor system performance and uptime, ensuring 99.9% availability of critical services.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in IT systems analysis, network engineering, or a related technical role.
- Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, or Java programming languages.
- Certification such as CompTIA Security+, CISSP, or AWS Solutions Architect is highly desirable.
- Deep knowledge of cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and virtualization technologies.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under tight deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences.
