Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and construction oversight of municipal infrastructure projects, including roadways, drainage systems, and water utilities.
- Review and approve engineering plans, specifications, and cost estimates prepared by consultants and internal staff.
- Manage project budgets, schedules, and resources to ensure projects are delivered on time and within scope.
- Coordinate closely with contractors, government agencies, and the public to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct site visits and inspections to monitor project progress and quality control standards.
- Prepare technical reports, presentations, and documentation for City leadership and stakeholders.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Professional Engineer (PE) license in the State of Georgia required.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in municipal engineering or public works.
- Proficiency in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, or similar design software.
- Strong knowledge of Georgia Department of Transportation (GDOT) standards and local building codes.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to present complex technical information to non-technical audiences.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet tight deadlines.
