As a Senior Network Engineer, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring our digital services remain accessible, secure, and efficient for the community.
Responsibilities
- Network Architecture: Design, configure, and troubleshoot complex network topologies, including LAN, WAN, and VPN environments.
- Security Management: Implement and monitor network security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and access controls.
- Performance Optimization: Analyze network traffic and performance metrics to identify bottlenecks and optimize data flow.
- Vendor Relations: Manage relationships with third-party vendors and contractors to ensure service level agreements are met.
- Documentation: Maintain accurate and up-to-date network documentation, including diagrams and configuration guides.
- Incident Response: Lead troubleshooting efforts for critical network outages and coordinate with IT support teams.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Certifications: Active CCNA or CCNP certification is highly preferred; Security+ or CISSP is a plus.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, preferably within a government or large enterprise environment.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment.
- Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills for technical reporting.
- Problem Solving: Strong analytical skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues under pressure.
