Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure to ensure high availability and security.
- Oversee network monitoring systems to proactively identify and resolve issues before they impact users.
- Manage vendor relationships and coordinate with third-party contractors for network upgrades and maintenance.
- Develop and document comprehensive network policies, procedures, and disaster recovery plans.
- Conduct performance tuning and capacity planning for network hardware and software.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior engineering staff.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related technical field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering, systems administration, or a related role.
- Certifications such as CCNP, CCIE, or JNCIP are highly preferred.
- Deep knowledge of LAN/WAN technologies, routing protocols (OSPF, BGP), and VPN solutions.
- Experience with network security protocols (Firewalls, IDS/IPS) and compliance standards (NIST, FERPA).
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure in a government environment.
