Responsibilities
- Design, implement, and maintain complex network infrastructure solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
- Configure and manage enterprise firewalls, VPNs, and security appliances to protect sensitive state data.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts for network outages and latency issues, minimizing downtime for agency operations.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to plan and execute network upgrades and migration projects.
- Conduct regular network audits and vulnerability assessments to comply with state and federal security standards.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior network engineers and IT staff.
Qualifications
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in network engineering or systems administration.
- Strong knowledge of Cisco routing and switching technologies (CCNP or equivalent experience preferred).
- Experience with network security protocols, including IPSec, SSL VPN, and firewall configuration.
- Proficiency in managing Windows Server and Linux environments.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to work under pressure.
- Ability to obtain a Kentucky Criminal Justice Information Services (CJIS) Security Clearance.
