Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment including mowers, tractors, and irrigation systems
- Lead seasonal landscape projects including tree planting, turf management, and horticultural installations
- Inspect and repair park facilities including playgrounds, trails, and sports courts
- Implement sustainable maintenance practices aligned with Seattle's climate action goals
- Mentor junior staff and coordinate volunteer groups for community projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA safety regulations and department protocols
Qualifications
- 3+ years of professional landscape or park maintenance experience
- Valid Washington State Driver's Class B license
- Certification in pesticide application (WA State Dept. of Agriculture)
- OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety certification
- Proficiency with irrigation system diagnostics and repair
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work in inclement weather conditions
- Experience leading volunteer or seasonal staff teams
