Responsibilities
- Design and implement innovative recreational programs for diverse age groups
- Oversee park facility maintenance and safety compliance
- Lead community engagement initiatives and volunteer coordination
- Manage event planning and execution for festivals and activities
- Conduct facility inspections and ensure ADA compliance
- Train and supervise junior recreation staff
- Develop partnerships with local businesses and organizations
- Prepare grant proposals and manage departmental budgets
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation, Leisure Studies, or related field
- 5+ years experience in parks/recreation management
- CPR/First Aid certification and lifeguard credentials
- Strong budget management and grant-writing experience
- Excellent communication and community relations skills
- Valid Hawaii driver's license with clean record
- Ability to work weekends and holidays as needed
- Knowledge of Hawaiian culture and local ecosystems preferred
