Responsibilities
- Oversee maintenance and enhancement of 15+ parks, athletic fields, and recreational facilities
- Design and execute innovative community programming serving 50,000+ annual participants
- Manage $2M+ annual budget for equipment, supplies, and capital improvements
- Lead cross-departmental initiatives with environmental sustainability focus
- Supervise team of 8-12 staff including seasonal workers and volunteers
- Develop strategic partnerships with local businesses and non-profits
- Implement ADA compliance and accessibility upgrades across facilities
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Recreation Management, Environmental Science, or related field
- 5+ years progressive experience in municipal parks/recreation management
- NRPA certification or equivalent preferred
- Proven budget management and grant-writing expertise
- Advanced knowledge of NJ environmental regulations and safety standards
- Strong conflict resolution and community engagement skills
- Valid NJ driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift 50 lbs and work outdoors in all weather conditions
