Responsibilities
- Perform complex and precise calculations for pension benefits, survivorship options, and refund requests.
- Conduct thorough audits of member records and account balances to ensure data integrity.
- Respond professionally and empathetically to inquiries from retirees, beneficiaries, and plan participants regarding plan provisions.
- Maintain strict adherence to ERISA guidelines, state pension laws, and internal compliance protocols.
- Collaborate with the payroll and human resources departments to ensure seamless integration of pension data.
- Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages for executive oversight.
- Assist in the development and implementation of new pension plan policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related field is required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or public sector finance.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, v-lookups) and pension software systems.
- Strong working knowledge of federal retirement laws (ERISA) and state-specific regulations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex concepts clearly.
- Ability to handle sensitive financial information with the highest level of confidentiality.
