Responsibilities
- Process Pension Claims: Accurately review, verify, and process retirement benefit applications and claims received during the weekend shift.
- Account Management: Maintain and update pension records in our secure government database, ensuring data integrity and compliance with ERISA regulations.
- Retiree Support: Provide exceptional customer service to retirees via phone and email, answering inquiries regarding benefit calculations, payments, and plan provisions.
- Compliance Auditing: Conduct routine audits of weekend transactions to identify discrepancies and ensure adherence to federal and state pension laws.
- System Maintenance: Assist in the maintenance and troubleshooting of pension administration software and reporting tools.
- Documentation: Prepare and file necessary documentation for pension disbursements and legal requests.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Human Resources, or a related field required.
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in pension administration, benefits management, or government financial services.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word) and experience with ERP or pension administration software (e.g., PeopleSoft, Oracle) is highly preferred.
- Regulatory Knowledge: Strong understanding of ERISA, FICA, and other relevant retirement regulations.
- Availability: Must be available to work a Weekend Shift (e.g., Saturday/Sunday) on a rotational basis.
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical audiences.
