Responsibilities
- Administer and calculate pension benefits for current and former public employees in strict accordance with Oregon Revised Statutes (ORS) and System rules.
- Conduct thorough audits of retirement records to ensure accuracy and compliance with federal and state regulations.
- Provide expert guidance and detailed explanations to members regarding their pension estimates, eligibility, and benefit structures.
- Collaborate with the actuarial team to analyze trends and recommend policy improvements to the Board of Trustees.
- Prepare complex reports and presentations for internal stakeholders and legislative committees.
- Maintain and update the pension administration database with the highest level of data integrity.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Actuarial Science, or a related field (Master’s degree preferred).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in public sector benefits administration, pension plan management, or actuarial work.
- Certification such as CFP, CPA, or FSA (Fellow of the Society of Actuaries) is highly desirable.
- Deep knowledge of ERISA regulations and Oregon state retirement laws is mandatory.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, specifically advanced Excel functions and data analysis tools.
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to explain complex financial concepts clearly.
