Responsibilities
- Plan Administration: Oversee the daily operations of the State Pension Plan, ensuring accurate calculation and disbursement of retirement benefits to eligible members.
- Actuarial Analysis: Monitor actuarial valuations and prepare reports to assess the financial sustainability and funding status of the pension plan.
- Compliance & Regulations: Ensure strict adherence to state laws, IRS regulations, and federal guidelines governing public employee retirement plans.
- Member Services: Serve as a subject matter expert for internal staff and external members regarding retirement eligibility, contributions, and vested benefits.
- Policy Development: Assist in the development and review of retirement policy updates and legislative proposals related to public employee benefits.
- Data Management: Analyze complex datasets to identify trends, resolve discrepancies, and improve efficiency in pension processing workflows.
Qualifications
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Actuarial Science, Public Administration, or a related field. Master’s degree is preferred.
- Experience: Minimum of 5 years of professional experience in pension administration, actuarial consulting, or public sector benefits management.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel advanced functions) and experience with actuarial or benefits administration software (e.g., SAP, PeopleSoft).
- Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
- Integrity: Unwavering commitment to confidentiality and ethical standards in handling sensitive financial data.
- Location: Must be willing to work in the Colorado Springs, CO office.
