We are currently urgently hiring a dedicated Pension Plan Specialist to join our dynamic team in Austin, TX. Responsibilities
- Manage and oversee the administration of state pension plans, ensuring accurate record-keeping and timely disbursements.
- Analyze pension data and trends to identify cost-saving opportunities and improve system efficiency.
- Conduct audits of pension data to ensure full compliance with Texas Government codes and federal ERISA regulations.
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for the State Legislature and executive leadership regarding pension liabilities and fund status.
- Provide expert guidance and customer service to state employees and retirees regarding pension eligibility, benefits, and vesting.
- Collaborate with the IT department to update and maintain pension management software and databases.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field required.
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in public sector finance, pension administration, or actuarial science.
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP) and Access.
- Experience with SQL or other database query languages is highly preferred.
- Deep understanding of government accounting standards and retirement planning principles.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to explain complex financial concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
