Responsibilities
- Research and analyze municipal policies affecting economic development, housing, and transportation
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and implementation recommendations for city council
- Collaborate with 15+ city departments on cross-functional initiatives
- Present findings to elected officials and community stakeholders
- Manage $2M+ grant programs supporting neighborhood revitalization
- Monitor federal/state legislative changes affecting local governance
- Lead public engagement sessions across Detroit's seven districts
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of government or public sector experience
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis (SPSS/R)
- Proven grant management and budget oversight experience
- Valid Michigan driver's license
- US citizenship or permanent residency required
- Experience with Detroit municipal processes preferred
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
