Responsibilities
- Analyze complex socioeconomic data to inform policy recommendations for city council and mayoral initiatives
- Lead cross-departmental task forces on housing affordability, transportation, and economic development
- Develop comprehensive policy briefs and implementation roadmaps with measurable outcomes
- Coordinate with federal and state agencies to align Charlotte with regional growth strategies
- Present findings to public officials and community stakeholders through compelling visual reports
- Monitor policy effectiveness through KPI tracking and quarterly impact assessments
- Manage departmental budget allocation for policy research initiatives
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in municipal or state government
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R) and data visualization tools
- Proven track record of successful policy implementation in urban environments
- Strong understanding of North Carolina municipal governance structures
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills with public presentation experience
- Valid North Carolina driver's license and ability to travel to community meetings
