Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex urban policy issues including housing, economic development, and public safety
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations aligned with city strategic goals
- Collaborate with department heads, community leaders, and external stakeholders
- Prepare detailed reports, memoranda, and presentations for City Council and mayoral offices
- Monitor implementation of adopted policies and evaluate outcomes
- Manage grant-funded projects and ensure compliance with federal/state requirements
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of policy analysis experience in municipal government
- Advanced proficiency in statistical analysis software (e.g., SPSS, R)
- Proven ability to synthesize complex data into actionable recommendations
- Experience with Milwaukee city government or similar urban environments
- Strong written/verbal communication skills with ability to present to diverse audiences
- Valid Wisconsin driver's license
