Responsibilities
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations for workforce development programs
- Analyze economic data to assess impact of state legislation on Detroit communities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement federal/state grant initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive policy briefs and legislative testimony for state officials
- Manage stakeholder engagement with local government, nonprofits, and industry leaders
- Oversee program compliance with federal regulations and state statutes
- Lead research projects on urban economic revitalization strategies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field
- 3+ years of policy analysis experience in government or nonprofit sector
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (SPSS, R, or Stata)
- Deep understanding of Michigan's legislative processes and budget cycles
- Proven ability to translate complex data into actionable policy recommendations
- Experience managing federal grant programs (e.g., WIOA, HUD)
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with policy drafting experience
