Responsibilities
- Research, analyze, and evaluate complex policy issues related to economic development, workforce training, and technology innovation
- Develop evidence-based policy recommendations and draft legislative proposals for agency leadership
- Collaborate with state agencies, stakeholders, and legislative bodies to align policy objectives
- Monitor implementation of policies and assess impact through quantitative and qualitative analysis
- Present findings to senior officials, legislative committees, and public forums
- Lead cross-functional teams on special policy initiatives and grant-funded projects
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, Urban Planning, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Expertise in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Proficiency with data analysis tools (Excel, R, SQL) and policy modeling software
- Demonstrated success in developing legislative proposals and policy briefs
- Strong understanding of Washington state government operations and regulations
- Excellent written/verbal communication and stakeholder management skills
