Responsibilities
- Analyze complex urban policy challenges using advanced data modeling and stakeholder engagement frameworks
- Develop legislative proposals and regulatory frameworks aligned with DC's strategic priorities
- Lead cross-agency task forces on housing equity, climate resilience, and economic development
- Present policy recommendations to Mayor's Office, Councilmembers, and federal partners
- Manage $2M+ grant programs and compliance with federal/state regulations
- Mentor junior analysts and build interdepartmental policy networks
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years policy analysis experience in municipal/state government
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software (R, Stata, Python)
- Demonstrated success in developing equity-focused policy frameworks
- Expert knowledge of DC's Home Rule Act and federal intergovernmental dynamics
- Valid DC government security clearance (or ability to obtain)
- Professional certification (e.g., PPFA, AICP) preferred
