Responsibilities
- Research and analyze complex public policy issues related to urban development, sustainability, and community services
- Develop data-driven policy recommendations aligned with strategic city goals and community needs
- Collaborate with cross-departmental teams to implement policy initiatives
- Prepare comprehensive reports and presentations for city council and leadership
- Monitor policy implementation effectiveness and recommend adjustments
- Engage with stakeholders including community groups, businesses, and residents
- Stay current on federal, state, and local regulations affecting Austin
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Administration, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive policy analysis experience in government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Exceptional analytical, writing, and presentation skills
- Deep knowledge of Austin's governmental structure and policy landscape
- Experience with policy development, budget analysis, and stakeholder engagement
- Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Valid Texas driver's license
