Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft comprehensive recommendations for City Council consideration
- Conduct quantitative/qualitative research using public data, surveys, and stakeholder interviews
- Develop implementation plans for approved policies with clear KPIs and evaluation frameworks
- Coordinate interdepartmental task forces and public engagement initiatives
- Prepare detailed policy briefs, legislative analyses, and public communications
- Monitor policy outcomes and recommend adjustments based on performance metrics
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Urban Planning, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years of policy analysis experience in municipal government or public sector
- Advanced proficiency in data analysis tools (SPSS, R, or Python) and GIS software
- Demonstrated success in developing and implementing local government policies
- Strong written and verbal communication skills with ability to simplify complex topics
- Valid New Mexico driver's license and ability to attend evening/weekend community meetings
