Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and draft actionable recommendations for legislative review
- Collaborate with agency directors to develop multi-year strategic implementation plans
- Conduct quantitative research using SPSS/R and prepare executive briefings
- Manage stakeholder engagement across 15+ state departments and local governments
- Oversee budget allocation processes for $50M+ public programs
- Represent department at public hearings and interagency task forces
- Mentor junior analysts on policy development methodologies
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Policy, Economics, or related field
- 5+ years government or nonprofit policy analysis experience
- Advanced proficiency in statistical software and data visualization
- Illinois residency required (IL residency hiring preference applies)
- Valid driver's license for statewide travel
- Superior written/verbal communication skills
- Experience with federal grant compliance (OMB Uniform Guidance)
- Security clearance eligibility
